Accessibility Statement
Atarna is committed to making its platform accessible to everyone, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 and WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
Last reviewed: March 2026
Our Commitment
We want as many people as possible to be able to use Atarna. That means we aim to make the platform:
- Usable with a keyboard alone
- Compatible with screen readers
- Clear and understandable with sufficient colour contrast
- Fully responsive and usable on all device sizes
- Free from time limits or seizure-inducing content
Technical Standard
Atarna targets compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is the standard required by UK law for public-facing digital services.
Our platform is built using modern, semantic HTML and ARIA attributes where appropriate to improve compatibility with assistive technologies including screen readers (e.g. NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility compliance, some areas of the platform may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria. Known limitations include:
- Some complex interactive components (e.g. product carousels) may have limited keyboard accessibility
- Third-party content from external retailers is not within our control and may not be fully accessible
- AI-generated product descriptions may occasionally lack sufficient structure for screen reader users
We are actively working to address these limitations. If you encounter a specific barrier, please contact us and we will prioritise fixing it.
Assistive Technology Support
Atarna has been tested with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content
- High contrast mode (Windows/macOS)
We recommend using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge for the best experience.
Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you find any part of Atarna difficult to use due to an accessibility barrier, we want to know. Please contact us and tell us:
- The page or feature you were trying to use
- What assistive technology you were using (if applicable)
- What happened and what you expected to happen
Email: privacy@atarna.co.uk
We aim to respond to all accessibility complaints within 5 working days.
Enforcement & Escalation
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your accessibility complaint, you may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), which enforces accessibility regulations in England, Scotland, and Wales.
In Northern Ireland, the equivalent body is the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI): equalityni.org
